Security Officer Training


  Metro Tech offers many CLEET APPROVED short-term classes for you to receive CONTINUING EDUCATION credit.  Look for the shield by the classes located in the following areas of this catalog: Business Technology, Computer Technology and Language and Communication. To receive continuing education credit, simply present your class certificate to CLEET.

 

Security Officer Training
You will be proud to be a Security Officer or Private Investigator, knowing that you have CLEET (Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training) approved training. The four areas of training and their requirements are:

MMPI-2 CLEET Approved

This personality inventory is required by CLEET prior to admission to Phase IV-Firearms training for security guards. Results must be submitted to CLEET and the school coordinator after evaluation by an Oklahoma licensed psychologist. This testing is only open to security guard personnel, not law enforcement candidates. This is due to a CLEET requirement for law enforcement personnel to have a private session with the testing psychologist. TUITION: $59.00

Phase I & II-Unarmed Security CLEET Approved

Phase I-Includes interpreting security guard law, first-aid, fire extinguishers, writing field notes and reports, plus interpreting legal powers. Phase II-Includes public relations, fixed post duties, patrolling and investigating security incidents. TUITION: $99.00

Phase IV-Firearms

Choose to qualify on either a revolver or semi-automatic pistol to fulfill the CLEET armed security guard license. Students desiring qualification on both weapons must take the class twice. Must purchase 400 rounds of ammunition at H&H firing range. Use appropriate holster, belt and extra ammunition carrier during class. Firearm will be inspected. PREREQUISITE: MMPI-2 test. REQUIREMENT: Minimum caliber for semi-auto pistols are 9mm and .38sp for revolvers. Duty style holster, belt, two magazines or speed loaders. Must be 21 TUITION: $135.00

This course will give you an understanding of testifying in civil and criminal matters. Gain knowledge in techniques to use when responding to the prosecuting and defense attorneys. Learn how to work with attorneys and volunteering information that may help or hurt your case. TUITION: $29.00

CLEET ApprovedCPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens

Four hours are presented of American Red Cross Adult CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Learn how to check the scene for safety, recognize and respond to an emergency and the good Samaritan law. Also learn how check a conscious and unconscious person, breathing emergencies, conscious choking, adult CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator. Two hours of First Aid training will cover soft tissue injuries, injuries to muscles, bones and joint, sudden illness, and hot and cold related emergencies. One hour of bloodborne pathogens reviews basic OSHA requirements of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard on what diseases can be transmitted by blood or other bodily fluids, signs and symptoms of these diseases, universal precautions, proper personal protection requirements, proper clean up of spills and disposal of contaminated waste. Homicide Investigations Series

From Crime Scene to Appeal-Part 1 New Class CLEET Approved

Reinvestigate an actual homicide as it developed in 1984 from crime scene to autopsy to trial. Apply new investigative procedures, based on news video tape of the crime scene, police reports, newspaper accounts of lost evidence, transcripts and more. Forensic Science-Part 4 New Class CLEET Approved

Understand the basics of DNA and how they apply to homicide cases. Review police lab reports, charts, hair and fiber evidence presented at trial. Test the chain of evidence from collection in 1984 to DNA testing in 2002. Study repetitive patterns of two chemists: one who commits suicide and the other who is accused of altering evidence.
