Program Description

Welding prepares the individual for successful employment in manufacturing, oil field production and steel construction by providing a foundation in working with steel and alloy materials through welding, repairing and cutting different types of materials, shielded metal arc (stick) welding, gas metal arc (MIG) welding, flux-cored welding, and gas tungsten arc (TIG) welding techniques. The program offers specialized preparation for structural or pipe certification by the American Welding Society (AWS) and construction certification by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).

The following programs are available:

Oxyacetylene and Stick Welding prepares students for SMAW (Stick) welder.

MIG and TIG Welding prepares students for GMAW (MIG) welder and GTAW (TIG) welder.
