Program Description

Demand is strong for health care professionals who can multi-task while managing health information in a computerized office environment. In this program students learn the necessary skills for entry-level employment in physicians' offices, clinics, home health care offices, hospitals, insurance companies and medical records departments. The program covers medical terminology, medical coding and medical office procedures. Students also become familiar with patient billing and medical laws and ethics.

The following programs are available:

Medical Office Technology I
prepares students for admitting clerk, medical receptionist, medical ward clerk or medical records clerk.

Medical Office Technology II prepares students for medical billing clerk, medical office assistant, medical insurance coder or medical transcriptionist.

Salary Range

Entry Level $8.00 - $10.00/hour
With Experience $9.00 - $12.00/hour
