Program Description
Learn how to install, diagnose and repair the electrical systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Install conduit, wires, cables, junction boxes and circuit breakers to control the power provided by an electric company. Wire interior and exterior light switches, wall sockets, ceiling fans, garage door openers and dusk-to-dawn lighting. Learn about power distribution systems, industrial controls, computerized controls, and robotics. Hours completed in these programs can be counted toward the 8,000 hours (4 years) of work experience required for the journeyman electrician license.

Electrical Construction prepares students for residential and commercial construction apprentice.

Commercial and Industrial Electrical Controls prepares students for commercial/industrial electrical apprentice.

Prerequisite: Electrical Construction or by instructor permission if previous work experience can be verified
ELT 2000 Alternating Current Fundamentals
ELT 2020 Industrial Motor Control
ELT 2010 Alarm and Communications Systems
ELT 2030 Programmable Ligic Controllers
ELT 2040 Automation and Robitics
Electives: Students may select hours in one or a combination of the following electives; total program length not to exceed 600 hours.

Salary Range
Entry Level $9.00 - $15.00/hour
With Experience $15.00 - $16.00/hour
Journeyman license $18.00 - $24.00/hour
Automation Electrician $25.00 - $60.00/hour
