Program Description

The Cosmetology program at Metro Tech is leading the field in today’s industry. A cosmetologist provides services for customers to help them improve their personal appearance. Cosmetology students receive instruction and hands-on training in nail, skin, scalp and hair care and composition. Day and evening classes are available Monday through Friday in 3-6 hour blocks of instruction.

Cosmetology prepares students for licensure exam for basic
cosmetologist.

Salary Range
Entry Level $7.25 - $9.00/hour
With Experience $24,000 - $35,000/year
(Most cosmetology jobs are paid on a commission basis.)

    Prerequisites
  • Minimum of an 8th grade education and 16 years of age with documentation of student’s date of birth
  • English proficiency test for those who speak English as a second language
  • Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology requires a $5.00 registration fee and social security number
