Program Description

Join a Ford-approved training center to learn basic auto service and maintenance. Specialize in steering and suspension, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, heating and air conditioning and engine performance. This program is Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified and taught by ASE certified instructors.

The following programs are available:

Auto Electrical, Steering/Suspension and Air Conditioning prepares students for electrical/electronics technician, suspension and steering technician and HAC technician.

Auto Brakes and Engine Performance prepares students for brakes technician and engine performance technician.

Ford Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) prepares students for Ford MLR technician certification.

Entry Level $6.00 - $10.00/hour
With Experience $25,000 - $75,000/year

Reading and math skills at the 9th grade level or above

Basic computer literacy/skills

Ability to understand theory and technical information

Ability to read and comprehend textbook and shop manual

Good health, physical condition and manual dexterity

Ability to lift heavy objects and stand/work on your feet for extended periods of time

Endurance to work under adverse weather conditions

Ford Maintenance & Light Repair certification

National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)

ASE written tests may be taken after program completion.

Two years of career technology training count as one year of work experience toward the ASE certification.
